Designed, built and supported in India — sovereign by design
Your AI factory on sovereign Indian infrastructure: data residency under DPDP, MeitY-recognised, ISO 27001 / SOC 2 deployment paths, and procurement on GeM.
Overview
The DRACO 16-Node L40S HPC Cluster is a turnkey 16-node HPC cluster that pairs CPU-forward compute with GPU acceleration — 3072 AMD EPYC cores across 16 nodes plus 64× L40S accelerators (3,072 GB GDDR6), wired with a low-latency InfiniBand fabric. It runs traditional FP64/MPI HPC and mixed AI on one cluster, on-premises, in INR, on a GST invoice.
Engineered for engineering, research and analytics teams that need real HPC throughput with AI on the side, it is delivered racked, cabled, scheduled and validated as a single system — RDP sizes the nodes, fabric, parallel storage, scheduler and cooling, with one warranty and one support contract.
Key highlights
- 3072 EPYC cores across 16 nodes — serious CPU throughput for FP64, MPI and memory-bound HPC.
- 64× L40S · 3,072 GB GDDR6 — GPU acceleration for AI inference, training and visualisation alongside HPC.
- InfiniBand NDR fabric — low-latency, high-bandwidth interconnect for tightly-coupled MPI jobs and collectives.
- 12 TB DDR5 ECC + 480 TB NVMe parallel NVMe — large memory and a high-throughput parallel filesystem for datasets and scratch.
- Scheduler-ready, turnkey — delivered with Slurm/Kubernetes, validated; one SKU, one warranty.
- On-prem data sovereignty — codes, data and models stay in-house; DPDP-friendly, air-gappable.
- Make-in-India OEM — predictable INR pricing, GST tax invoice (HSN 8471), pan-India onsite support, GeM-procurable.
- Scale path — grow node count and step up the accelerator (H200) as workloads demand.
AI workload fit (what it actually runs — honestly)
- HPC + simulation (primary): FP64/MPI workloads — CFD, FEA, molecular dynamics, EDA, risk and Monte-Carlo — across 3072 cores.
- AI inference & visualisation: the L40S is an Ada-generation accelerator strong at inference, rendering and mixed-precision AI; serve and fine-tune mid-size models alongside HPC jobs.
- RAG & agentic: production AI services co-located with HPC for engineering and research teams.
- Engineering note: the L40S (48 GB, no NVLink) is built for inference, visualisation and mid-size AI — not large-model pre-training. For heavy training, choose the H200 node variant or a GPU Server/SuperCluster. This cluster’s strength is balanced CPU-HPC + accelerated AI.
AI workload positioning
This sits at the HPC + applied-AI stage: a cluster for teams whose primary workload is simulation/analytics with AI alongside. With 3072 CPU cores and 64 accelerators on an InfiniBand fabric, it is sized to sustain real HPC throughput plus AI inference — where renting equivalent cloud HPC continuously gets expensive.
Industry use cases
- Manufacturing & automotive — CFD/FEA simulation plus AI-assisted design.
- Energy & engineering — reservoir, structural and process simulation.
- BFSI — risk, Monte-Carlo and quantitative analytics with AI.
- EDA & semiconductors — chip design verification at scale.
- Research & academia — a shared HPC + AI cluster for departments.
- Life sciences — molecular dynamics and bioinformatics pipelines.
Performance — and how to be sure
We don’t publish inflated peak numbers. The honest picture: 3072 EPYC cores and 64× L40S on InfiniBand are sized for converged HPC + applied AI. Want certainty? Request a free benchmark of your HPC codes and AI models, including an MPI scaling test, on this exact configuration before you buy; we’ll send back real performance and scaling efficiency.
Series & upgrade path
- DRACO (flagship cluster tier) — this.
- Node ladder: 4 → 8 → 16 → 32+ nodes; accelerator ladder: L40S (inference/viz) → H200 (training).
- When to step up: for large-model training, move to the H200 node variant, GPU Servers, or a rack-scale system — talk to an architect.
On-prem vs cloud — the TCO case
For sustained HPC, owning beats renting: a continuously-running cloud HPC cluster adds up fast, and on-prem removes egress and keeps codes and data in-house. RDP pricing is fixed in INR with a GST input-credit-eligible invoice — ask for a 3-year TCO comparison.
Software & day-one readiness
Ships pre-integrated and validated: NVIDIA driver, CUDA, cuDNN, NCCL, MPI (OpenMPI/MPICH), the InfiniBand stack, Slurm and/or Kubernetes, with common HPC toolchains, PyTorch and vLLM / Triton on a supported Linux LTS. Optional managed cluster operations and an HPC/MLOps platform.
Power, cooling & rack integration
A 16-node cluster — RDP scopes rack power, cooling (air or liquid), the InfiniBand fabric and floor/rack requirements in the design. (Exact power, BTU, airflow and rack-depth figures confirmed on the build sheet.) Full out-of-band management across the cluster.
Deployment, warranty & support
- Made to order, integrated, racked, cabled and burned-in in India; lead time confirmed at quote.
- Delivered as one system: nodes, fabric switches, cabling, PDUs, parallel storage, and the full HPC/AI software stack.
