The central government has notified the holiday calendar for the year 2023. The central government employees are going to avail of national holidays on two criteria. One is a closed holiday and the other is a restricted holiday. The closed holidays refer to the office or department remaining closed on that particular occasion/ holiday. Restricted Central Government holiday calendar 2023:

The restricted holidays are also similar to closed holidays. The only aspect that makes difference is the office/department remains as a working day. The employees can avail of holiday irrespective of any deductions in their salary. This restricted holiday can be granted for personal, religious, and custom purposes.
