Chandrayaan 3 mission

About chandrayaan 3 mission

Chandrayaan-3 is like the next step after Daytrack@5678Chandrayaan-2, a mission to learn more about the Moon. This time, Chandrayaan-3 will show that we can safely land and drive on the Moon. It has two parts: a Lander and a Rover. It will be sent into space using a big rocket from a place called Sriharikota. There's a special part that will carry the Lander and Rover to a place near the Moon. This part also has a special tool to study the Earth from the Moon.

Chandrayaan, the Sanskrit word for "mooncraft," has become synonymous with India's remarkable achievements in space exploration. Now, the Chandrayaan-3 mission is about to make history in space exploration by attempting a gentle landing on the surface of the Moon. As people tend to wait for when Chandrayaan 3 will land on the moon, here’s the answer from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) plans to carry out this soft landing on August 23rd, 2023 while the spacecraft keeps circling the Moon in a curved path.

Mission profile of chandrayaan 3

Chandrayaan-3 has significant missions it aims to achieve:

  1. Safe Landing: Chandrayaan-3's main goal is to demonstrate a smooth and secure landing on the Moon's surface, proving its ability to touch down gently without any issues.
  2. Rover Exploration: Another crucial objective is to showcase the mobility of a special car-like machine called a rover on the Moon's terrain. This rover will be able to move around and explore the lunar surface.
  3. Scientific Discovery: Chandrayaan-3 will also conduct experiments directly on the Moon. These experiments are like little investigations to find out new and interesting things about the Moon and its mysteries.

In simple terms, Chandrayaan-3's mission revolves around achieving a safe Moon landing, letting a rover move around, and carrying out exciting scientific experiments to learn more about the Moon.

How Chandrayaan 3 was designed and developed?

The lander named Vikram and the rover named Pragyan for Chandrayaan-3 are the same as those used in the Chandrayaan-2 mission. The scientific instruments on the lander have specific goals. They will investigate different things about the Moon, such as its shaking, how hot its surface is, changes in the area near its surface, and precisely measuring the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

The part of Chandrayaan-3 that helps it move in space, called the propulsion module, has a new test onboard named Spectro-polarimetry of Habitable Planet Earth (SHAPE). The purpose of SHAPE is to look for smaller planets that could have life by looking at the light that bounces off them.
