The Challenge
Asian Paints, India’s largest paint manufacturer, runs a dealer network that touches nearly every pincode in the country. Its ‘Dreaming with the Stars’ programme was designed to reward and enable that network — and needed 1,500 laptops, distributed pan-India, to dealers whose core workflow is billing, account tallying, and bill-receivable management. The device needed to run multiple applications responsively, fit a tight per-unit budget, and come with service coverage that matched the network footprint.
The Deployment
Asian Paints, working through Infibeam, evaluated several laptop options and selected RDP’s laptop. Two factors were decisive: its outstanding responsiveness when running the multiple accounting and inventory applications dealers use concurrently, and its price point — the lowest among comparable devices in the shortlist. RDP layered exclusive on-site support across the entire Indian dealer footprint, so the 1,500 devices were supported directly where they were used, not via central depots.
The Outcome
With 1,500 RDP laptops in the hands of dealers, the programme scaled exactly as Asian Paints designed it. Dealers reported that day-to-day account work — tallying books, managing receivables, processing bills — became materially simpler. Uptime held, and service incidents resolved on-site.
